The electronic application “Citizen of Heraklion” for the service of the citizens was upgraded


Great response to the people of Heraklion has the electronic application “Citizen of Heraklion” developed by the Municipality for fast service, recording problems and their immediate resolution by the competent services. In this context, the updated version of the application for mobile devices was released and offers new features. We are continuing, said the Mayor of Heraklion, Mr. Vassilis Lambrinos, the strengthening of e-Government policies by increasing the services provided to citizens, visitors and businesses through “smart” applications and for mobile devices.

“The application” Citizen of Heraklion “has a great impact on fellow citizens. With its use, the ratio of communication between the citizens and the Municipality changed, since before its appearance the submission of requests by telephone was 75%, while now 50% of the requests are submitted electronically and 50% by telephone “, the Mayor pointed out.

Citizens through the online application can:

  • connect through TAXISnet, Google, Facebook or through the website of the municipality
  • choose what they will see on the home page according to their own interests
  • see a history of problems they have submitted in the past using the phone number they provided when submitting.
  • connect via TAXISnet and request certificates from their mobile phone
  • see privacy policy information in case of emergency with offline maps and protection instructions

The application is available on Android systems through the Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.noveltech.mitos.heraklion&hl=en and in the next 2-3 days will be available in iOS through App Store.
