Awarded after certification the Municipal Beach “Coast”

“Certification Protocol for the Sustainable Management and Development of the Mediterranean Beaches” with one of the highest ratings for public beach (75 to 100), received the Municipal Beach of Karteros “Coast” which was awarded in the context of its certification by the Costa Nostrum Sustainable Beach. The Municipal Beach of Karteros “Akti” was awarded as a sustainable beach “three seahorses” according to the criteria and procedures of the certification protocol. The certificate, the information plate and the flag were received by the Deputy Mayor of Heraklion, Petros Iniotakis, the President of Municipal Enterprise Culture, Tourism and Development of Heraklion (MECTDH) Minas Kapetanakis and the head of the Department of Environment Manolis Fotakis from the CEO of Costa Nostrum Vassilis Zisimopoulos. As it became clear, once again the Municipality of Heraklion made its commitment come true to provide high quality services to its residents and visitors, but also for the defense of a sustainable model of tourism development with the basic criterion of the protection of the environment and the prosperity of the wider society as a whole.
